The StoryAlity K-Film: Part 1.
The StoryAlity K-Film: Part 1 i-doc (online interactive documentary) previously could be viewed online (free, obviously) in interactive linear format…
But since Flash was canned, now it’s a linear version (25 minutes), here:
(“Silent-K”, because: it’s no longer interactive, but is indeed still: online)
Q: What are K-Films ?
A: A `K-Film’ is a Korsakow (pronounced: `Kor-sa-kov’) Film – i.e. an online interactive film…
(In this case: it’s a short i-doc – or interactive documentary, i.e. The StoryAlity: Ep 1 K-Film is approx, 25-30 mins, depending on the path that you navigate through it, as you view it) …and, K-Films are, officially, supercool:
And – for more info on Korsakow, an application for online interactive films (invented by Florian Thalhofer, and developed by Matt Soar, David Reisch and others), visit: http://korsakow.org/
And I personally think K-Films are a brilliant medium… (as Florian says: “Linearity is overrated ! “)
So – The StoryAlity K-Film: Ep 1 is composed of ten or so, short (around 2 mins, on average) segments, including:
…And, a few other short segments in there, as well…
And – the idea behind the film is, to convey the key points of StoryAlity, or, basically: an Introduction to the Theory. Though, I must provide a warning: it is `Rated S’ (for Screenwriter).
As above, the whole online doco takes about 25-30 minutes, depending on the path you take through it… (and – if you get pulled away, or have to pause/quit halfway through, Korsakow actually remembers where you got up to… How cool’s that..?)
(Nota Bene – StoryAlity: Ep 2 and 3 are now `in the works’… whenever I get time to complete them…)
And – a philosophical question – if my (ongoing) Doctoral thesis has:
1) a StoryAlity Theory Screenwriting Manual,
2) a StoryAlity K-Film interactive-documentary,
3) a StoryAlity (i.e. Creative Practice Theory) Game Demo…
…is it a `Transmedia‘ Thesis..? 🙂
– Thoughts, comments & feedback, always most welcome…
